36th Aminu Kano Memorial Lecture: Nigeria Facing Grave Crisis of Insecurity – Former NBA President

Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud (SAN) has expressed concern over the lingering insecurity situation in Nigeria which has threatened its socio-political and economic setting, saying that northern Nigeria in particular and Nigeria as a whole may be sleeping in a grave of time bomb. He said unless authorities, community and leaders, as well as other stakeholders move strongly to address this challenge, the repercussion could damage the future of the country.

BUK Ready to Support Staff in Pursuing ANAN Certification

The Management of Bayero University has expressed its readiness to support staff who are qualified to pursue certificates of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello made this pledge on Monday, 8th April, 2019, when the executive members of ANAN paid a courtesy call on the University Management. He assured ANAN that Bayero University would continue to partner with the accounting body to promote the standard of the profession.

CDA-BUK Conducts Workshop on Innovative University Teaching

A workshop on Innovative University Teaching is being conducted by the Centre for Dryland Agriculture (CDA) in collaboration with the Department of Science Education, University of Copenhagen, Denmark in Bayero University, Kano.

The workshop, which started on Monday, 25th March, 2019 and ends on Saturday, 30th  March, 2019 is aimed at equipping and enabling the participants drawn from various departments to motivate and capacitate fellow staff to reform their approach to teaching and learning.

BUK Gets 36 New Professors, 40 Associate Professors

The 13th Governing Council of Bayero University, Kano at its 6th regular meeting held on Thursday, 7th March, 2019   approved the promotion of 36 new Professors and 40 others as Associate Professors, respectively.

A statement signed by the University Registrar and Secretary to the Council, Hajiya Fatima Binta Mohammed, said all appointments took effect from October 2018.

227 Students Get N11.4m Indigent Student Scholarship

Two Hundred and Twenty Seven students of Bayero University have received indigent scholarship awards of fifty thousand (N50, 000) each for the 2018/2019 academic session.

The indigent scholarship awards are given annually by some philanthropic individuals and organizations. They include Alhaji Sabitu Muhammad Jifatu, CEO Jifatu Enterprises, Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, CEO Azman Air, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), national body and Bayero University, Kano chapter, among others, to enable the less privileged students to pay their registration fees.

BUK Awards Scholarship of N50,000 Each to 180 Best Students

The management of Bayero University has awarded scholarship of N50,000 each to one hundred and eighty (180) best students, who distinguished themselves and performed well at the  2017/2018 academic session. This is to enable the students to use the money to pay for the registration fees of the current academic session.
