BUK Receives N40m TETFund Research Intervention

Bayero University has received a grant of Forty Million Naira (N40m) under the TETFund National Research Fund (NRF) intervention for University’s research projects.

According to two separate letters sent to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello and signed by the Director, Research and Development/Centre of Excellence of TETFund, U.A Bukar on behalf of the Executive Secretary dated 23rd and 18th April, 2019 respectively, said  in line with its mandate and commitment to promote and support impactful research activities in public tertiary educational institutions, the Board of Trustees of the Fund approved N31,056,651 to Dr. Mansurah A. Abdulaziz whose research is titled: Isolation of the Anticancer and Antihypertensive Principal (s) of some Selected Nigerian Plants and the Molecular Basics of their Activities and N9m to Associate Professor Binta Jibrin, whose research is entitled: The Role of Non-Interest Banking in Promoting Financial Inclusion and Sustainable Development in Nigeria.

According to the statement, the research grant was to enable the University and the researchers to contribute meaningfully to government’s desire to revive and make research and development as a launch pad for national development.
