Prof. Haruna Wakili

The Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Research and Training, Mambayya House, kano was founded in November 2000 as a research and training unit of Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria, in the premises vacated by the defunct Centre for Democratic Studies (CDS), which was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 1989. When the CDS was scrapped in 1996, the Federal Government donated the building to Bayero University, Kano. It is a non-profit making organization, and operates as a relatively autonomous organ within the University's organizational structure.

The centre carried out researches under the British Council's Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Pogramme (NSRP) on "Baseline Studies on Cohort Groups of Women and Youths in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State, Nigeria" from July to August 2014
