MBA Full-Time (Special 3rd Semester) Guidelines for Internship

As part of the requirement for graduation,  all students shall undergo an internship in a business/industrial establishment. This will expose them to practical application of managerial techniques discussed in the class. The programme is for two months commencing from first week after the third semester exams. However, those students with working experience of at least 5 years in any reputable organization will on the alternative write a report (minimum of 10 pages, spirally bound). In such a case, the detailed report should consist of the following:

  1. General Introduction
  1.     The name of the organization, its location and, nature of business.
  2.     Your previous job roles/duties while in the employment of the organization before embarking on this MBA programme.
  1. The Organization and job Experience
  1.     The organizational structure of the establishment.
  2.     The difficulties and challenges you faced in carrying out your duties before enrolling for the MBA.
  3.     How has the MBA program made a difference with respect to coping with the difficulties and challenges associated with your  job i.e. what value has the MBA added to you?
  1. Recommendations
  1.     What should the Management of your organization do to bring about improvements on individual and organizational performance?
  2.     What should the Managers of the MBA program do to make it a better structured so as to make the graduates better prepared to cope with the challenges and realities in contemporary business organizations?
  1. Registration Procedure

Students that do not qualify for report writing should approach the management of an organization where they prefer to do the internship for placement. The MBA Office would issue a letter of introduction to the organization and subsequently the student would obtain a formal letter of acceptance from the intended establishment.

When you have secured consent of the organization, write name and detailed address of the organization, contact phone of the student (along with the student’s valid email address) and that of  a key official of the organization behind your bank deposit slip and submit to the programme Secretary Office.

Before the expiration of the internship period, a supervisor (lecturer) shall visit your establishment to interact with you and your supervisor (manager) in order to ascertain your involvement and performance in a work environment.

Supervision fees: ₦20,000.00 One-off

More importantly, each student is strongly requested to make the payment within the stipulated time otherwise he/she will spill-over the course.
