1. Bachelor of Agriculture
• General Requirements: The Requirements of the B.Agriculture degree programme is the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) such as WAEC/NECO, GCE O’ Level, or its equivalent. Candidate must possess five O’ Level credits in relevant subjects (English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and Physics) obtained in not more than two sittings.
• University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Entry Mode: To gain addmission into 100 level of the 5-year B. Agriculture programme, the candidate requires an acceptable performance in the University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in the relevant subjects which include English, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography and Physics.
• Direct Entry (DE) Mode: To be eligible for direct entry into the 200 level, the candidate must have met the matriculation requirements in relevant O’Level subjects plus IJMB/HSC/GCE A’ level passes in Chemistry and Biology, National Diploma in Agriculture and related subjects at credit level.
2. MSc. Soil Science
i- A B.Sc. Agriculture degree from the Faculty or equivalent recognized by Bayero University with first or second class honors.
ii- A Bachelor’s degree with a first or second class honors in an agriculture-related field. Where applicable, candidates with such qualifications may be required to remedy all deficient undergraduate courses as may be recommended by the candidate’s supervisory committee. The candidate may also be required to show evidence of practical post qualification experience in an academic institution or industry related to agriculture.
iii- Any other qualification together with relevant field experience as deemed acceptable to the Faculty Board of Agriculture, Postgraduate School Board, and the Senate of Bayero University.
3. PhD Soil Science
i- A good Master’s (with a CGPA of not less than 4.0 and an MSc Thesis of B grade) in the disciplines from the Department or a qualification recognized as equivalent by Bayero University.
ii- A good Master’s degree in a related Candidate with such qualifications may be required to complete satisfactorily the deficient courses at lower levels as may be recommended by the candidate's supervisory committee. Post qualification experience in an agricultural institution or industry is an advantage.
