Mambayya House Celebrates NEPU at 70

The Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Studies (Mambayya House) has organized an annual anniversary lecture to commemorate 70 years of Northern Element Progressive Union (NEPU).

The Theme of this year's anniversary was titled: Party Ideology and Supremacy: The Example of NEPU, was to mark the 70 years of the party's formation.

This year’s event held virtually on Saturday 8th August, 2020 via zoom due to Covid-19 pandemic which does not allow for large gathering.

Council Appoints Prof Sagir Abbas as 11th Vice Chancellor of BUK

The Governing Council of Bayero University, Kano has appointed Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas as the 11th Vice Chancellor. Prof Abbas is to succeed Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello whose tenure ends on 17th of August, 2020.
At a valedictory Council meeting held on Saturday, 8th August, 2020 at a new Senate Building and chaired by the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, the new Vice Chancellor was presented with his letter of appointment.

BUK Conducts Congregation Parley, As Prof Sagir Abbas Gets Community Acceptability

Bayero University, Kano on Wednesday, 5th August, 2020 conducted a Congregation Parley as part of the processes for the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor.

During the Parley, contestants vying for the post of the Vice Chancellor interacted with members of the congregation on their mission, vision and how they intended to move the University forward.

Covid 19: CDA-BUK Distributes Palliatives to Farmers from 22 Communities

The Centre for Dryland Agriculture (CDA) on Friday, 26th June, 2020 distributed seed palliatives to farmers from 22 neighbouring communities of Bayero University to serve as subsidy as well as ensure that seeds become available to the farmers who no longer have money to purchase seeds for the planting season, having exhausted their savings on food during the recent lockdown due to the spread of covid 19 pandemic.

BUK Signs MoU with Dantata Foods on Dryland Farming

Bayero University’s Centre for Dryland Agriculture (CDA) and the Dantata Foods and Allied Products on Friday, 26th June, 2020 signed a Memorandum of Understanding on dryland farming that would boost the small-holder farmers.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello, who signed on behalf of Bayero University, said it was in line with the current global trend of triple helix model in which the government, academia and industries partner for advancement of research activities.
