The study of soil science focuses on the understanding, use, and management of soil (as a natural resource on the surface of the earth) to optimize and sustain agricultural production, at the same time ensure environmental quality and sustainability. Therefore, the programmes and courses offered in our Department target different aspects of soils and land surfaces such as Soil Pedology, Soil Survey and Land Use Planning, Soil Mineralogy, Soil Chemistry, Soil Physics, Soil Biology (including Microbiology), Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition, Soil and Water Management, Agricultural Meteorology, among others.
