ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING PROGRAMMES

The main entry point into the B Eng Mechanical and B Eng Automotive Engineering programmes is the Senior Secondary School Certificate or GCE O’level or its equivalent. Candidates must satisfy all University entry requirements plus passes at credit in at least five subjects (including Mathematics, English, Chemistry, and Physics) all obtained at not more than two sittings.

Level 100:

Admission into Level 100 requires, in addition to the above, an acceptable performance in the University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in the relevant subjects which include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English Language.

Level 200 (Direct Entry):

Candidates who apply for direct entry are admitted into Level 200, provided they satisfy one or more of the following requirements in addition to the above general requirements.

a) They have at least three passes in subjects including Physics, Mathematics and/or Chemistry at GCE ‘A’ Level.

b) They have a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of Upper credit plus.

c) Relevant credits at ‘O’ Level, or

d) Grade A in WAEC – Technical or City and Guilds

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMME

Candidates for admission into the PGDME Programme:

• Graduates of Mechanical Engineering with third class degrees or its equivalent.

• Holders of a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of Upper Credit or its equivalent.

• A minimum of two years industrial experience in Mechanical Engineering.

• Must satisfy all other requirements of the School of Postgraduate Studies.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR MASTERS PROGRAMME

Candidates for admission into the M.Eng Program:

• Must normally have a Bachelor’s degree or a recognized Postgraduate Diploma in Mechanical

Engineering and/or other related fields from this or any other approved University.

• May be required to satisfy all other Departmental requirements in a qualifying Examination

process before admission.

• Must satisfy all other requirements of the School of Postgraduate Studies.
