NOTAP Commissions Multi-Million Naira Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office in BUK

The National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), on Wednesday, 24th July, 2019, commissioned a multi-million Naira Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office (IPTTO) in Bayero University. The aim is to promote and protect intellectual property rights, as well as raise awareness about intellectual property among researchers.

BUK Beats Nasarawa State University to Top HIFL Group

Bayero University Football Team, yesterday, Tuesday, July 16, 2019 defeated Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) at the opening group stage of Higher Institutions Football League (HIFL) competition  by  a narrow 1-0.

BUK’s top striker, Ahmad Umar Jafar was brought down by NSUK defender, Innocent John just five minutes into the game and the centre referee, Julius Long wasted no time in awarding a penalty to BUK Team. Ahmad Jafar converted the spot-kick to put BUK Stallions ahead.

PhD Scholarship Opportunity for African Scientists

The Partnership for Skills in Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology (PASET), under its Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund (RSIF), is offering up to 45 PhD scholarships at one of ten RSIF African Host Universities in the following thematic areas: Climate Change; ICTs (including big data and artificial intelligence); Food security and agribusiness; Minerals, Mining and Materials Engineering; and Energy (including renewables).

CDA Programmes Evaluated for International Accreditation by French Agency

An assessment team from the French High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES) visited Bayero University, Kano (BUK), on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 to evaluate two MSc programmes in the Centre for Dryland Agriculture (CDA) for international accreditation. The programmes evaluated were MSc Natural Resource Management and Climate Change, housed in the Department of Geography and MSc Agronomy (Crop and Cropping Systems in Drylands) domiciled in the Department of Agronomy.

BUK’s 42nd Inaugural Lecture: Research Shows Environmental Preservation Leads to Economic Growth

A new research conducted in Bayero University shows that environmental preservation and protection will lead to sustainable economic growth and development.

The outcome of research was presented as part of Professorial Inaugural Lecture presented by Professor Mustapha Mukhtar which was 42nd in the series titled: People, Planet and Profit: Peaceful Bed Fellows at the Best of Times But Strange Roommates at Present- The Economist’s Approach to a Peaceful and Sustainable Co-Existence on Thursday, 27th June, 2019.

New Research in BUK Discovers Use of Moringa Oleifera in Waste Water Treatment and Environmental Protection

A new research in Bayero University, Kano has discovered that moringa olifiera (zogale) can be used in treating waste water and environmental protection.

The research, which was presented as part of Professorial Inaugural Lecture of Professor Mustapha Hassan Bichi of the Faculty of Engineering on Thursday, 21st June, 2019, identified the intervention of ‘raw’ Moringa in the life of man and the application of its seeds in water and waste water treatment.

Yukubu Gowon, Bogoro, Gambari Commission New Projects in BUK

Former Head of State,  General Yakubu Gowon, the Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro and  BUK’s Pro-Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim Gambari commissioned new projects in Bayero University, Kano on Friday, 14th June, 2019 as part of the activities of the 35th Convocation Ceremony.
