9 Out of 13 First Class Graduands in Faculty of Life Sciences are Females

A wide applause greeted the 3rd Day of Bayero University’s 35th Convocation Ceremony, on Thursday, 13th June, 2019, when the Registrar, Fatima Binta Isyaku Mohammed announced that out of thirteen first class graduands in the Faculty of Life Sciences,  nine were females.

The Senate members, academics and administrative staff; graduands, parents and other members of the public who were present clapped with joy, ecstasy and appreciation, having seen it as a positive step taken by females to be at par with their male counterparts.

Indigent Graduand Emerges Best at 35th Convocation

Despite his financial challenges, Musa Adamu Yakubu has emerged as the best student in the Department of Radiography. He graduated as the best student in his class, winning most of the available prizes.

The graduand was presented to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello for a handshake and recognition before a large gathering on the 2nd day of BUK's 35th Convocation ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, 11th June, 2019, at the famous Convocation Arena.

2325 Graduate in Day 2 of BUK's 35th Convocation

Bayero University on Tuesday, 11th June, 2019, graduated a total of 2,325 candidates from seven faculties on the second day of 35th Convocation Ceremonies.

The faculties are Arts and Islamic Studies, Allied Health Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Dentistry, Social Sciences and School of Continuing Education.

A total of one thousand eight hundred and fourteen (1,814) graduands from the Faculties of Agriculture, Education and Computer Science and Information Technology were convoked on Monday, 10th June, 2019 on the first day of Bayero University’s 35th Convocation Ceremony.

All the graduands from the three faculties were presented to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello for a handshake, which becomes the tradition of the University since the Convocation ceremonies were staggered

BUK to Award Honorary Doctorate Degree on Elumelu, Solanke and Gwarzo

Bayero University Kano is set to honour philanthropist and entrepreneur, Tony Onyemaechi Elumelu, first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Folake Solanke and Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo with honorary doctorate degrees for their immense contributions to human development at the University’s forthcoming 35th Convocation.

35th BUK Convocation: 105 Students Graduate with First Class Honours

A total of 105 students will be awarded with first class degree during the forthcoming 35th Convocation ceremony of Bayero University, Kano scheduled to commence from 10th to 15th June, 2019.

This was revealed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Muhammad Yahuza  at a pre-convocation press conference held at the University’s Senate Chamber on Friday, 31st May, 2019.

BUK Set to Commence Veterinary Medicine Program

Plans are under way to commence a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program in Bayero University, Kano, Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello, has disclosed.

Addressing a news conference on Friday, 31st May, 2019 at the Senate Chamber to roll out activities of the forthcoming 35th Convocation ceremony, the Vice Chancellor said the Management had already identified suitable site for the construction of a befitting structure that will house the new Faculty.

10th &11th Annual Captain Yadudu Liver Disease Workshop Takes –off June 8

The 10th and 11th Annual Captain Yadudu Liver Disease Workshop has been scheduled to hold on Saturday, 8th June, 2019. The workshop is jointly organized by Captain Isma’il A. Yadudu Foundation, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and Bayero University, Kano.

For the past ten years, the workshop has been held at various locations including Dawakin Kudu and Centre for Democratic Studies, Mambayya House.

BUK Qualifies for HIFL Tournament, Beats Nile University, KUST to Top Group

Bayero University has qualified for a money-spinning Higher Institution Football League Tournament after beating Nile University and Kano University of Science and Technology to top its group with 6 maximum points.

The BUK team, tutored by Ibrahim Isyaku Ibrahim, defeated Nile University, Abuja, narrowly by 3-2 courtesy of 2 goals from diminutive midfield maestro, Bashir Maitama, while Abdulkadir Tijjani scored the other goal yesterday (Monday, 20th May, 2019).

Scholars gathered at this year’s Ramadan Lecture held at Mahmud Tukur Theatre in Bayero University unanimously agreed that fighting moral decadence in our society requires the effort of all stakeholders, including parents, religious leaders, government, traditional institution and the media.
