Bayero University, Kano (BUK), on Friday, 17th July, 2026, flagged off a tree planting campaign aimed at establishing a plantation shelter belt stretching from the Faculty of Law to the farmland of the Centre for Dryland Agriculture (CDA), as part of the University's commitment to environmental sustainability and campus beautification.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Haruna Musa, fsi, said the initiative is designed to enhance the University's landscape, promote environmental conservation, improve biodiversity and create a greener, healthier environment for present and future generations.
The campaign was attended by the University's Principal Officers, Deans, Directors and members of staff, who joined the Vice-Chancellor in planting the first set of trees, reaffirming the institution's collective commitment to climate action and sustainable environmental management.
