BUK Hosts National Conference on Youth

The Centre for Economic, Social and Population Research (CESPOR), Bayero University, Kano has conducted a national conference with the theme: The Future is Youth. The Conference was organized to x-ray the myriad challenges bedeviling the Nigerian youth with a view to proffering far-reaching recommendations that should be adopted by government and all other relevant stakeholders to address those challenges.

BUK Receives NUC Accreditation Teams for 9 Programmes

Bayero University, Kano on Monday, 17th January, 2022 received eight teams from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the accreditation of 9 programmes.

Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, who received the teams along with members of Principal Officers, said the University always welcomes accreditation exercise because it is a peer review process with the aim of helping institutions to strengthen their teaching and learning.

As part of his promises to enhance and improve the welfare of students in the University, Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas on Thursday, 13th January, 2022 launched a modern skills acquisition centre at the Students Affairs Deanery with the aim of training students to learn tailoring and make-up in order to become self-reliant after graduation.

The Bayero University’s 55th Congregation Meeting held on Thursday, 30th December, 2021 expressed commendation to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas on taking pro-active security measures across the campuses of the University. The Congregation noted that the steps taken would strengthen the security situation.

 The Congregation, however, reiterated the need for deployment of technology in securing the University environment.

This is to inform undergraduate students that the mid-semester break is scheduled to commence on Monday, 27th December, 2021 to Monday, 3rd January, 2022.

Lectures are to resume on Tuesday, 4th January, 2022.
