The unit evolved from the former PPD&MS (Physical Planning development & Maintenance services) overseeing all aspects of physical and maintenance development to the PPU (Physical Planning Unit) focused primarily on physical development in 2012 as a result of a resolution by the University council to provide a more efficient service delivery. The Physical Planning Unit is saddled with the responsibility of designing and providing all physical structures of the University. These range from planning, designing, supervision and execution of the projects to a successful completion.
