Congregation Applauds Haruna Aliyu's Appointment as BUK Registrar

The 59th Congregation of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) commended the appointment of Haruna Aliyu as the 7th substantive Registrar of the University.

Aliyu’s appointment, made by the 15th Governing Council on Thursday, August 22, 2024, was celebrated during the Congregation meeting held on Saturday, December 14, 2024. It marked his first attendance as Registrar.

The Vice Chancellor and Chairman of the Congregation, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, acknowledged the vital role of the Registrar as the custodian of the University’s records. He emphasized the demanding nature of the position and expressed confidence in Aliyu’s ability to elevate BUK’s administrative framework.

“If Haruna succeeds, it’s the University that succeeds,” the Vice Chancellor stated, urging members of the University community to extend their full support to ensure Aliyu’s success and enhance the University’s administrative dynamism.

Members of the Congregation lauded the appointment and expressed their best wishes for Aliyu’s tenure, committing to collaboration for the advancement of the University.
