The Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Professor Haruna Musa, fsi, has expressed profound appreciation to the management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN) for organizing a maiden colloquium in his honour to commemorate his first year in office as the 12th Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University.
In a message of appreciation on Wednesday, 19th August, 2026, Professor Musa thanked the Vice-Chancellor of KHAIRUN, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, the University's Governing Council and Management for what he described as a thoughtful and historic gesture.
He said the honour was not only meaningful to him personally but was also deeply appreciated by the entire Bayero University community.
"I would like to most respectfully acknowledge and appreciate the Vice-Chancellor of KHAIRUN, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, the Governing Council and Management for organising a maiden colloquium in my honour, marking my one year in office as the 12th Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano. This honour is greatly appreciated by the staff, students and indeed the entire community of Bayero University, Kano, and we remain eternally grateful for this recognition," he said.
Professor Musa also extended his appreciation to the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and friends of KHAIRUN for joining in the celebration of his first anniversary in office.
Reaffirming Bayero University's commitment to partnership, the Vice-Chancellor pledged to deepen the existing relationship between the two institutions in pursuit of academic excellence and national development.
"I assure you that Bayero University, Kano, under my stewardship will continue to strengthen the existing collaboration with KHAIRUN for the benefit of humanity," Professor Musa stated.
The colloquium, organised by Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, brought together academics, researchers, students and other stakeholders to celebrate Professor Musa's first year of leadership while also providing a platform for intellectual discourse on "Transformative Science and Technology Education for Sustainable National Development."
