Admission Requirements
Candidates can enter into Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department programmes at 100, 200 and in special cases 300 Levels depending on their quali¦cations. The minimum entry requirements into the various levels of the courses are presented below.
100 Level:
Candidates must have passes at credit level in O level examination (SSCE, GCE or NECO) in five subjects including English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in not more than two sittings, In addition, satisfy the minimum UTME/post UTME cut-off mark as determined by the Faculty.
200 Level:
i. Candidates must have passes at credit level in O level examination (SSCE, GCE or NECO) in five subjects including English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
ii. Acceptable grades in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at IJMB, GCE A level or other equivalent examinations
iii. Candidates having a National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Upper credit in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or other relevant courses.
iv. Candidates with credit pass in Higher National Diploma (HND) in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or other relevant courses.
Special case (300 Level):
i. Candidates with Upper credit in Higher National Diploma (HND) in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or other relevant courses and distinction in Mathematics may be admitted into 300 level with the approval of the University Senate.
ii. Faculty may recommend to Senate other special cases for admission based on merit.
