Bayero University, Kano is hosting the 5th National Conference of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations for professionals in tertiary institutions from 25th to 28th November, 2025.

The long-standing challenges of epileptic power supply and the enormous financial burden of electricity at Bayero University, Kano will soon become history, as the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has officially commissioned a major national project to resuscitate the University’s Solar Power Plant and upgrade its capacity from 3.5 megawatts to 6 megawatts. This landmark initiative marks a significant turning point in BUK’s commitment to sustainable, reliable, and cost-efficient energy.

PalmPay Nigeria Limited has launched a major educational support initiative with the announcement of a N10 million scholarship fund for students of Bayero University, Kano (BUK). Under the scheme, 20 students will receive N500,000 each, making BUK the starting point of PalmPay’s nationwide scholarship programme.

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) made a stunning impression at the opening ceremony of the 27th Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) held at the University of Jos (UNIJOS), Plateau State on Saturday, 8th November, 2025. The BUK contingent, elegantly dressed in blue and white, captivated thousands of spectators during the match-past, earning one of the loudest applauses of the day.

The University is participating in 13 sporting events, with 130 athletes representing BUK across various competitions.

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has once again asserted its dominance in university sports after an impressive outing at the Nigeria University Games Association (NUGA) Zone E Preliminaries held at the Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil. The University’s athletes qualified for 13 different sporting events, earning BUK a strong representation at the forthcoming NUGA 2025 Games scheduled to take place at the University of Jos.

As the Zone E preliminaries of the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) kick off on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST), Wudil, the Director of Sports at Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Professor Rabi’u Mohammed, has charged the University’s athletes to display exceptional sportsmanship and make the institution proud.

Bayero University, Kano, on Thursday, 23rd October 2025, received a delegation from the Jigawa State College of Education, Gumel, who paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Haruna Musa, fsi, to congratulate him on his appointment as the 12th Vice-Chancellor of the University.
