Bayero University, Kano, has commissioned 20 solar-powered tricycles under the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) intervention, aimed at enhancing campus transportation, promoting innovation, and advancing green energy solutions in Nigerian universities.

The commissioning ceremony, held on Monday, October 20, 2025, marked a major step in the University’s drive toward sustainable mobility and environmental responsibility.

In a remarkable display of intellect and academic excellence, Bayero University, Kano (BUK) student, Yahaya Lawan Muhammad, has emerged as the overall champion of the 2025 Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students (PANS) National Quiz Competition. The event, held during the PANS National Convention tagged EPIC’25, brought together the brightest pharmacy students from universities across Nigeria.

Inter-University Transfer

In exceptional cases, candidates may be considered for transfer from other universities into Bayero University to continue their degree studies. The following guidelines shall be adopted in processing applications for inter-university transfers as stated in section 2.6 of General Examinations and Academic Regulations (GEAR):

As part of preparations for the forthcoming Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) preliminaries, the Bayero University, Kano (BUK) Female Handball Team recorded an emphatic 15–5 victory over Government Girls Arabic Secondary School (GGASS), Tudun Murtala in a friendly match played as a warm-up fixture on Thursday, 16th October, 2025 at Old Campus Sports Complex.

The Senate of Bayero University, Kano  has recommended Professor Ahmad Muhammad Tsauni, Director of the Bayero University Press, for appointment as the next Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics.

The decision was reached during the 428th Meeting of the University Senate held on Thursday, 2nd October, 2025. The recommendation will be forwarded to the University Governing Council for consideration and approval at its next meeting.

Bayero University, Kano, has hosted the 5th International Conference on Reading Research and Practice, themed “ Reading Research and Practice: The Implication of Artificial Intelligence.” The four-day event, organized by the Nigeria Centre for Reading Research and Development (NCRRD), took place from October 5 to 8, 2025, attracting scholars, researchers, policymakers and education experts.
